Law Student Housing

The Office of Residence Life and Housing have overseen law student housing since 2018.  Students living in on-campus law residential areas will are able to benefit from all University services in a more streamlined fashion.

Housing for law students is only available during the fall and spring academic semesters.

2024-2025 Housing Selection/Application Timeline

  • 4/1 - 4/12: Returning Law Student may apply to return to Law Student Housing
  • 4/12: $300 Housing Deposit due for Returning Law Students. Payment must be received and processed by the Bursar's Office by 5pm.
  • 5/1 - 6/9: New/Entering Law Student may apply for Law Student Housing
  • Please Note: Returning students will have the ability to select their housing assignment. Due to the limited housing capacity, priority will be given to international exchange students for New/Entering Student Housing and will be based on date of application. Assignments for New/Entering Students will be made based on available space(s) with priority based on date of application.
  • Returning Law students will be notified of their housing assignment by May 15.  New/Entering Law students will be notified of their housing assignments by July 1.  As with all housing options, there is no guarantee and depends on space availability.

Meal Plans

All students resideing in law residence halls are required to purchase the Spider 40 meal plan and may upgrade to the Spider Unlimited option if desired. 

Move-In and Check-in Information

New (L1) and Exchange Law students are able to move in on Sunday, August 18, 2024.  All Returning (L2 and L3) Law students will move in on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. 

Check-in will occur between 9 a.m.– 4 p.m., both days, on the first floor of Tyler Haynes Commons (Building 270 on the campus map). All students must check-in to be able to gain access to their residence.  Late arrivals must go to URPD.

Law Residence Housing Options

Starting in the fall of 2024, Law students will be housed in Atlantic House and Pacific House.

The three residential areas dedicated to Law School student housing for 2023-2024 are outlined below.

  • Law Residence Hall

    Located adjacent to Atlantic and Pacific Houses and within a short walking distance to the School of Law.  Amenities of the Law Residence Hall include a furnished community/living room area, community refrigerator, and washer and dryer.  All rooms are single occupancy with two full bathrooms that are shared by all residents in this one level residence.  During the summer of 2022, renovations will be completed to include new wood laminate flooring, bathroom updates, new HVAC, and more. All rooms furnished with Sauder Education furniture.  For more information please refer to the Facilities and Furniture tab.  The Law Residence Hall is connected to the campus network for internet and cable services.

    • Room 1:  13’4" x 7’6" (13’8" - "L-Shaped Room"), 2 windows, 2 closets (RA Room)
    • Room 2:  13’4" x 8’2", 1 window, 1 closet
    • Room 3:  13’7" x 7’6", 1 window, 1 closet
    • Room 4:  13’8" x 8’3", 1 window, 1 closet
    • Room 5:  12’6" x 10’3", 1 window, 1 closet
    • Room 6:  12’9" x 9’2" with connected area of 12’ x 4’6", 1 window, 1 closet
    • Room 7:  14’ x 12’. 2 windows, 2 closets
    • Room 9:  12’ x 8’9", 1 window, 1 closet
  • Bostwick 5 - University Home

    Located near the campus entrance on 5 Bostwick Lane and within a short walking distance to the School of Law. This is a two-story University home that has a furnished community/living room, full kitchen, screened porch, and stacked washer/dryer unit. All rooms are single occupancy, have hardwood flooring, and furnished with Sauder Education furniture. For more information please refer to the Facilities and Furniture tab. Internet and cable services are provided to students through an outside provider that is covered by the University.

    • Room 1: 14’ x 12’, 1st floor, 2 windows, 1 closet and armoire, shared/semi-private bath
    • Room 2: 14’9" x 12’8", 1st floor, 2 windows, armoire, direct access to back patio, shared/semi-private bath
    • Room 3: 12’8" x 14’8", 2nd floor, 2 windows, armoire, ceiling fan, private bath (RA Room)
    • Room 4: 11’4" x 9’10", 2nd floor, 1 window, 1 closet, ceiling fan, shared/semi-private bath
    • Room 5: 14’9" x 11’4", 2nd floor, 2 windows, 1 closet, ceiling fan, shared/semi-private bath
    • Room 6: 12’ x 14’, 2nd floor, 2 windows, 1 closet, ceiling fan, shared/semi-private bath
  • Bostwick 15 - University Home

    Located near the campus entrance on 15 Bostwick Lane and within a short walking distance to the School of Law. This is a split-level, two-story University home that has a furnished community/living room, full kitchen, screened porch, and washer/dryer unit. All rooms single occupancy, and are furnished with Sauder Education furniture. For more information please refer to the Facilities and Furniture tab. Internet and cable services are provided to students through an outside provider that is covered by the University.

    • Room 2: 13’3" x 11’7", 1st floor/lower-level, 1 window, 1 closet, laminate tile flooring, shared/semi-private bath
    • Room 3: 13’2" x 18’2", 1st floor/mid-level, large wall window, armoire, carpeted, shared/semi-private bath
